The Colombian soprano Johanna Vargas has been a permanent member of the Neue Vocalsolisten Stuttgart since 2019 and has since been a regular guest at internationally renowned festivals for new music, including ECLAT and Wittener Tage für Neue Kammermusik.

Due to her universal training, Vargas knows how to use her voice all-embracingly; she studied in Bogotá, Bremen, Karlsruhe and Stuttgart. Since summer 2021, she has been “Artist in Residence” at the Festival de Royaumont. For 2022, she won a six-month scholarship as “Artist in Residence” at the Cité des Arts de Paris with her duo LAB51.
