Manos Tsangaris

Manos Tsangaris is a composer, drummer and installation artist. He is considered one of the most important representatives of New Music Theatre. Since the 1970s, he has been researching the conditions of performance as an essential object of composition.
In 2011, he founded the International Institute for Art Investigation (IIKE), and has been a member of the Berlin Academy of Arts since 2009. Tsangaris is professor of composition at the Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber Dresden (since 2009). Since 2016 he has been artistic director of the Munich Biennale for New Music Theatre (together with Daniel Ott).
