SPARK

Schlagquartett Köln made its debut at the Wittener Tage für Neue Kammermusik in 1989. Its repertoire, which is as versatile as it is experimental, covers wide areas of composed percussion music of this and the past century.

Numerous concerts, radio productions and world premieres by Carola Bauckholt, Beat Furrer, Nicolaus A. Huber, Wolfgang Rihm, Gerhard Stäbler, Volker Staub and many others document the continuous work for this special instrumentation over the past twenty years. In 2003, Schlagquartett Köln received the sponsorship award of the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation.
