SPARK

Carola Bauckholt studied with Mauricio Kagel at the Musikhochschule Köln from 1978 to 1984. In 1985 she founded the Thürmchen Verlag together with Caspar Johannes Walter and in 1991 also the Thürmchen Ensemble. She has received numerous scholarships and awards and represented Germany at the World Music Days in Copenhagen in 1996 and Seoul in 1997.

Bauckholt was elected as a member of the Music Section of the Akademie der Künste Berlin in 2013, and she has been director of the Music Section since 2021. In 2020 she also became a member of the Class of Arts of the Nordrhein-Westfälischen Akademie der Wissenschaften und der Künste.
